These questions were created to help you explore more of your own personal story to prepare you for being used by God.
(If you have the opportunity to get together with others, share what God has been speaking to you about and what responding with faith and action looks like.)
Cultivate: As a child, what gift were you given that you were the most excited about? Describe how you received it.
Grow: Read John 1:12 and Luke 18:17. What can you learn from the way you received gifts as a child when it comes to receiving from God?
Flourish:What are you trying to achieve that God is inviting you to receive? How can you posture yourself more like a child in this season?

Answer the following questions in your Bite-Size Bible Study® Companion journal (or another space if you don't have one).
1. Cultivate:On a scale of 1 (impossibly difficult) to 10 (incredibly natural) where would your ability to receive? Explain your answer. Which of the reasons below (or what other reasons) do you identify with? How have these beliefs trickled into your relationship with God?
Defense Against Intimacy
Letting Go of Control
Fear of Strings Attached
We believe it’s selfish
Pressure to Reciprocate
Receiving Exposes Our Vulnerability
We believe we should be independent
Afraid of longing for love or connection
Suspect people’s motives
Taken from 5 Reasons Receiving is Harder than Giving, and 4 More Reasons Why Receiving is Harder Than Giving.
2. Grow: Read Luke 18:17-30. Consider how the posture of the rich young ruler might’ve been different if he had come to Jesus with nothing. What would it look like for you to come to Jesus as a receiver rather than an achiever?
3. Flourish: What impossibility is God asking you to believe is possible with Him this season?
